ART ABOUT FACE
Face Painting & Body Art
Parties, special events, theatre and stage
I have done face painting professionally alongside my other work for the past 10 years, under the name 'Art About Face'.
I have painted at a variety of events over the years, including Natalie Cassidy's Baby Shower which was filmed for a Channel 4 documentary; a stint at Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire as one of their resident painters; the Ministry of Sound; Penguin Books; Smyths Toy Store; MOD family fun days; various shop opening days, product launches and numerous private birthday parties.
Whilst my other artwork has now taken over somewhat, I still take bookings as I really enjoy the variety!
TEMPORARY INK & GLITTER TATTOOS
These can be added to any booking for a great alternative to face painting if you wish to offer a choice, or as a booking in itself. Very popular with older children and teenagers, and many adults!!
The photos do not do these beauties justice!!!
Tattoos are created with stencils using either glitter or temporary inks and are fully waterproof lasting for several days!
Suitable for children over the age of three.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
You must gain permission from parents to allow me to paint their children if they are not present at the event. This can be done verbally and by putting a notice in the party invitation: if parents are not going to be present at the party with their child/ren and do not wish them to be painted, they must make this known to the organiser
From time to time I may take photographs of my work to use for promotional purposes within my website, social networking sites, leaflets or other publications. No names are ever revealed. If for any reason you or your guests do not agree, please let me know and their privacy will be respected
Health & Safety
I only use products, which are fully compliant with EU & FDA toy and cosmetic regulations, and are non-toxic. My face paints are specially formulated to be friendly to the most delicate skin. The face paints are all water-based, so they're as easy to get off as they are to put on. Soap and water is recommended to remove face paint products. Most ‘reactions’ to face paints are not from the products, but from the method of removal. Baby wipes are not recommended as most contain alcohol which can irritate the skin and cause soreness. Despite this, it is still possible for anyone to have an allergic type of reaction and if this occurs, medical advice should be sought. If a child is known to have eczema, has a contagious illness such as measles, chicken pox or a viral cold, has a contagious skin infection such as ringworm or any other open wound or sore to the facial skin, they cannot be painted. For health and safety reasons, I strictly do not face paint or do glitter tattoos on children under 3. Most of the products I use are only recommended by manufacturers for over 3 yrs. I may be able to offer a simple design on the arm as an alternative.I do not use UV paints on children under 12 as they are not recommended.
I have public liability insurance cover for £5 million and am CRB checked via my NHS job. Certificates can be produced upon request. Other accidents and injuries can happen during an event. The client acknowledges that there are risks inherent with live entertainment which include, but are not limited to: dangers from tripping over equipment and furniture. The client agrees to take responsibility for such risks.
If the booking is cancelled by the client within 28 days of the event, 50% of the final balance is payable, and within 14 days of the event date, full payment is required. If a change of date is required, this can be fulfilled if there is availability. A different artist may have to be sought. If this is not possible, the above fees apply. If the unfortunate circumstance of sickness or other unforeseeable event occurs to the artist, a replacement artist will be sought. If this is not possible a full refund will be issued.
